Traditionally the festive Friday evening reception has launched the Florida Orchestra Guild’s Saturday Holiday Tour of Homes with six private residences decorated for the holidays, open to the public for tours throughout the day. In 2020, and now in 2021, concerns about the pandemic brought postponement of the Tour itself until December 2022.
Reservations for the December 3rd Reception are limited to a number that will allow guests to socially distance.
DID YOU KNOW?
Our wonderful Florida Orchestra was one of the few major orchestral groups in the United States to offer socially distanced live concerts throughout the 2020-2021 season. The musicians, staff and venue did so at the cost of a significant amount of revenue. However, with sacrifices and careful planning by the Orchestra’s leadership and musicians, audiences at the Mahaffey Theater and online were privileged to enjoy live symphonic music for the entire season. Now we have an opportunity through fundraisers and direct contributions to repay our Orchestra for giving us music to lift our spirits during the many dark days of the past year.
